Videotaping Goalies
- Set up your video camera on a tripod between the top of circle and the blue line (so that you can see the goalie crease and the majority of the defensive zone). If you can, position the camera over the crease (it’s rare that you can).
- For example in Belleville Ginette set up the camera high over the ice in the corner aligned with the goalie.
- Adjust your zoom so that you can see as much of the defensive zone as possible, then leave the camera alone!
- When the play enters the defensive zone, start recording.
- When the play leaves the defensive zone, stop recording.
- If you can, you should reposition the camera for each period (since the teams change ends).
- What is important is to be able to see the position (angles of the body), the depth of the goalie in the crease, movement, anticipation, quickness.
- Just do it and we will give you our feedback.
- Have fun!
