Two Cobras teams make finals |

The Minor PeeWee A and Major Midget AA Cobras both made it to the finals of the Gloucester Rangers Winterlude tournament Feb 2-4. The PeeWee Cobras had one win and two ties in round robin play, then squeezed by the host Rangers 4-3 in the semi-final before dropping a 2-1 decision in the final to the Silver Seven Black. Maxim Choquette was the top scorer in the tournament with five goals and six points in five games, while Mathieu Fournier and Mathieu Galipeau each contributed four points. The Major Midgets were 2-1 in the round robin, and edged the East End Ticats 3-2 in the semi-final before bowing out 4-0 in the final against the Rangers. Philippe Béland finished third in tournament scoring with 3 goals and 9 points for the Midget Cobras, while his brother Maxime had 7 points, good for fourth in the scoring race. |

Even though Maxim Choquette was hauled down from behind by Kanata’s Brandon Peacock on a breakaway, he never gave up and managed to flip the puck over the Blazer’s goalie for an insurance goal in the PeeWee Minor Cobras’ 6-4 win over Kanata on January 30. The win solidifies the Cobras’ hold on 6th place as they head down the stretch for the playoffs. [More] |

L’attaquant Bruno Cheff des Cobras met la rondelle par-dessus la mitaine du gardien Jacob Alexander de Nepean lors d’une partie à Vankleek Hill le 27 janvier. Malheureusement, le but en troisième période n’était pas suffisant pour les Cobras et ils ont subit une défaite de 5-2 contre les Raiders, qui occupent le deuxième rang dans le classement de la ligue PeeWee majeur AA.
