Cobras graduate to AAA |
September 26, 2007 Twenty-five players who skated with the Eastern Ontario Cobras last year have graduated to the Ontario East Minor Hockey League, the new AAA league in the Ottawa area. “I am very proud that so many Cobras have moved on to play at a higher level,” says Cobras president Frank Pronovost. “The goal of our organization is to develop players to their highest potential. The fact that so many have stepped up to play in the new AAA league speaks to the depth of the talent in our system and tells me that our coaches are doing a great job helping our kids develop into better hockey players.” The Minor Bantam and Minor Midget Eastern Ontario Wild teams lead the way with seven former Cobras on each of their rosters. Five players from the 2006-07 Minor Bantam Cobras are suiting up for the Wild this year, while four will wear the Wild colours at the Major Midget level. In addition, two players from last year’s Major PeeWees will skate with the Upper Canada Cyclones Bantam Minor team. Marc-André Ranger, who coached in the Cobras organization last year, is the head coach of the Major Midget Wild AAA team.
